2007 Year in Review

Happy holidays to our family and friends, near and far! We hope 2007 has been a wonderful year for all of you, as it has been for us!

February: The year started off as Reena completed her first marathon after training for several months. The marathon was the culmination of the Distance Challenge, a series of 7 races in Austin the increase in distance to total 100 miles across all the races. Reena was fortunate to have her high school friend, Molly, travel to Austin from Chicago to run with her. Molly is accomplishing a marathon per state and is also a nurse, so was the perfect partner for Reena! Crossing the finish line, they were welcomed by Jeff, Reena's Mom, Bulbul Massi, Sanjiv Uncle, Jeff's good friend Chuck and his wife Laura. They were a great welcoming committee, after 6 strenuous hours!
March: Mexico

April:

Wedding: Our wedding was wonderful! After a year and a half of planning, we were so happy to have so many friends and family join us for this celebration in Austin at Barton Creek Resort.

Honeymoon: Following the wedding, we took our first trip to Europe, visiting Switzerland, Italy, and Belgium. In Switzerland, we stayed on Lake Lucerne and had a chance to take a boat across the lake and a train up Mt. Rigi and hike around the different mountain areas. The views were spectacular and the ice cream in Switzerland was great!

In Italy, we toured Rome and the Vatican, after a relaxing stay at Fonteverde Resort in Tuscany. Jeff's sister Christine had treated us to an authentic Italian cooking class in Tuscany which we enjoyed, where we had a chance to make trout, biscotti, stuffed tomatoes, pasta from scratch, and
May: Reena and Jeff go windsurfing on Lake Travis.

June: Sold condo.

July: Reena took a trip to Chicago to reunite with college friends Anika and Nalini, and also with high school friends Molly and Amanda. We celebrated Reena's birthday with a trip to North Padre Island, a national park to visit the Texas coast. Jeff enjoyed visiting with the birds.

August: Jeff started a new job at Dash Navigation. Reena visited Ronak in Portland with her parents and presented a paper at an Intel conference.

September: The house in Austin finally sold after two months! We moved! We had a wonderful going-away dinner with our awesome Austin friends at The County Line, on Deepak's 30th birthday. Deepak grew quite an appetite when he turned 30! We were sad to leave such good friends and are hoping they visit CA soon :)

October: Reena started her new job at Google. Reena and Jeff unpack in the new house we are renting in Cupertino (near San Jose). We go pumpkin picking at Half Moon Bay. We won 2nd place in the Dash pumpkin carving contest, winning a coveted bottle of Napa Valley wine.
November: Jeff and Reena go hiking. Reena's parents and Ronak visited for Thanksgiving. The Dash device is named one of the best new devices of 2007 in Popular Science magazine!

December: Reena got to be a culinary intern at Google. Google Christmas party. The Giants win! Christmas in Washington.

That is our year in review, it was definitely busy but very memorable and fun. We hope 2008 continues to be an adventure for us and for you! Happy holidays!
